After 12 years of entrepreneurship, 7 years in private equity and 3 years in business consulting and management, Andreea Pirvu, the founder of Effective Business, is helping her clients improve their businesses with her diverse know-how and her extensive experience.

Andreea Pirvu founded Effective Business in 2013, since then having provided various projects (both outsourced and inhouse) to companies which wanted to develop their businesses, improve their operations or simply obtain bank financing. The main projects delivered over this time period included:

-       Mergers & acquisitions (enrolment of capital investors)

-       Over 40x recovery of efficiency project costs due to identified operational improvement measures

-       Performing one of the most complex financing / refinancing operations on the Romanian market in amount of over EUR 50 million, for a company in financial and operational distress, involving all major banks in the market

-       Ensuring accurate cash flow forecasts and zero cash defaults for a very complex business with daily promissory notes despite of decreasing turnover, as well as cash-flow stability for its group companies

-       Achievement of additional working capital in amount of over EUR 10 million, by asset and liability optimization

-       Revenue increases due to bank financing agreements obtained for the company’s clients

-       Sustaining the company’s activity by obtaining supplier insurance, involving both an important local insurer, as well as one of the most important re-insurers worldwide (with an equity of over EUR 30 billion)

Almost 7 years with two of the most important capital investors in Romania at that time:

-       Andreea Pirvu was until 2013 Assistant Director at Advent International, at the time being the largest private equity fund in Romania and the only global fund with direct local presence, being since 2008 part of the team managing an EUR 1 billion fund for investments in Central and Eastern Europe

-       At GED, one of the first and well-known private equity funds in Romania, Mrs. Pirvu was part of the team managing an EUR 150 million fund for investments in Southern and Eastern Europe in the period 2007-2008

Over the 7 years accomplished in private equity, Andreea Pirvu:

-       Participated in over 80 investment projects in various stages of the investment process, with values ranging from EUR 1 million to over EUR 500 million in the following business sectors:

  • Ceramica Iasi (listed on Bucharest Stock Exchange) – largest local producer of ceramic bricks in Romania
  • Labormed – one of the most important local producers of pharmaceuticals
  • Regina Maria – well known provider of medical services
  • Fonomat – telecom retail chain
  • Romanian Real Estate Partners – real estate development (headquartered in Amsterdam)

-       Coordonated the industrial, retail and consumer goods and technology, media and telecom sectors for Romania

-       Prepared business plans and forecasts for companies with turnovers between EUR 5 and 200 million

-       Created strategic plans and cost efficiency procedures having as result over 90% growth in turnover and over 150% increase in operating profits

-       Participated in financing projects for companies with over EUR 30 million turnover

-       Mentored numerous portfolio company managers in order to improve their professional performance and work motivation

-       Recruited the most diverse personnel categories, from top positions up to specialty positions
